Dr. James M. Patton, MD
Neurologist
Dr. James Patton graduated from Emory University in 1985 with a chemistry degree. He graduated from Emory School of Medicine in 1989; then completed his residency in Neurology at North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1993. He also completed fellowships in Electromyography, Movement Disorders and Neuromuscular Disorders at North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1994. He is board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Patton was a partner with Mountain Neurological Center from 1994 until 2004. He pioneered Botulium Toxin Therapy in Western North Carolina for torticollis, spasticity, migraine and dystonia. He is a founding member of Asheville Neurology Specialists. He speaks regularly at the local Parkinson’s support group. When he is not practicing medicine, he enjoys his three children, playing with his dog, mountain biking, kayaking, exercising , and volunteering in the community.
